Pretty good deal for £90, even if I don’t say so myself!
Breezy day today meant the girls only had two starts which were then abandoned due to umpire interference and breakages! Unfortunately, this left no opportunity for movement in the results. Definitely a huge amount taken away from a challenging weekend and “sure, it was good craic anyway!”
Tough day at the office down in Weymouth at women’s match racing today. Sailing in conditions of high teens and a thunder storm or two, provided a rather exciting baptism of fire to the relatively new team to match racing! However the girls are in good spirits and enjoying the close racing, especially the acrobatics […]

Leading our all U25 crew is Annabel Bates – helm of our J80 ‘Swallow’. Follow our progress here: http://www.lendycowesweek.co.uk/web/code/php/main_c.php… First day of racing on Saturday brought with it light winds and strong tides, with most of our fleet hitting the shore we managed to get round to course with good speed and finish in fourth – […]
Team Seafire (10): Scott Wallis, Annabel Bates, Belle Body, Nellie Gannon and Jakob Schmutz. Team Now4 (24): Freddie Liardet, Oscar Baker, Rory Cheetham and Will Roberts. The competition was fierce! Team Now4 have had some tasty experiences with blocks exploding – all crew are better than ever after some team bonding over lovely BBQ put on by hosts Royal Southern Yacht Club. Follow […]
Our two Exeter University Sailing Club / Royal Southern Academy teams have had a fantastic start to the J80 World Championships.
The sailing is incredibly competitive with many national and world champions amongst the 48 boats competing.
We are racing on Seafire (25th) and Now4 (39th). Both crews have already learnt a vast amount, had productive debriefs and are excited to get back out on the water tomorrow! Take a look at Day 1 results via the link below.
This comes straight after a thorough week of training for the J80 Worlds in July. The team had a great first day finishing in 15th place. Once off the water there was plenty of scrutinising and identifying where there is room for improvement ahead of the next day! The J80 fleet is extremely competitive and it […]
Further north than many of us have ever dared venture before, we’ve been met with two very chilly and breezy days of racing. Going into the final day the 1s are sitting in second place and the 2s are in 6th place, looking to hold onto a spot in the top 8 before semis tomorrow. […]
The newly formed 3rds were flighted in bronze but held their own today with victories against a highly competitive fleet. 2s scraped into gold fleet after sailing some tricky teams yesterday. Despite losing their first two races and having to resail one of their wins, the seconds entered into a semi finals against RTYC. Sibling […]
Results from this weekend’s qualifiers are up and it doesn’t look like our 3s have done quite enough to get them through to playoffs. Still plenty of events to look forward to this term, best of luck to all 4 teams in the coming weeks!

Despite light and tricky conditions the 2nd team topped the leaderboard with not a single race lost and the 1s finished just behind, conceding their only race to the 2s in a tightly fought battle that was too close to call from the shore. Congratulations to both teams who have qualified straight through to finals […]
